Phil Spencer, the CEO of Microsoft Gaming, confirmed that Xbox is working on a handheld console and implied the company's entire library of console-exclusive games could eventually go cross-platform, meaning there's virtually no limit to the possibilities. Even games like The Elder Scrolls 6 aren’t off the table, though that might be far into the future. With the so-called console wars apparently coming to an end, there are plenty of upcoming Xbox games that even PS5 owners can look forward to.

10 ARK 2

Despite some criticism from critics and fans alike, ARK: Survival Ascended's success has kept the series in the survival genre spotlight as a remaster to the perennially popular ARK: Survival Evolved. With both ARK: Survival Evolved and ARK: Survival Ascended on the PlayStation 4 and 5, respectively, it's a no-brainer that eventually ARK 2should also be available for PlayStation fans.

ARK 2 was previously slated to release in 2024 on Xbox, but there's no indication it's ready for launch, and a PS5 release has yet to be confirmed. It would be unwise to keep PlayStation fans waiting. As the hype around ARK 2 dies down, so will potential sales on the PS5. Though Sad Cat Studios has had a rough go at its debut, Replaced looks to be a promising platformer, with elements of shooting and fighting. If it comes to the PS5, it will surely do well alongside other PlayStation platformers. With Replaced being the first released game from Sad Cat Studios, releasing it on the PS5 would give the studio a bigger chance at success. Sad Cat Studios could reach a wider audience and establish itself as a prominent developer in the gaming industry.

Avowed is a game being published by Xbox Game Studios itself. Some might think it's foolish to anticipate a PS5 release from an Xbox Game Studios game. However, it wouldn't be too surprising if it did happen, as the game has ties to Pillars of Eternity, which is already cross-platform. Should Avowed follow suit, it will allow PlayStation players to experience the rich world and storytelling the Obsidian Entertainment game will surely offer.

Set in the Pillars of Eternity universe, players will be able to explore a mysterious island full of dangerous adventure and political intrigue while investigating rumors of a plague. It allows players to experience the world from a first-person point of view, allowing them to truly immerse themselves in the fantasy world.

If South of Midnight does end up coming to the PS5, it will give PlayStation fans a chance to experience a hauntingly beautiful world. With the cozy game genre still growing, players are always looking for a new, cozy game to sink hours of their day into. Winter Burrow will fit right in with any collection once it's released in Early 2025. Hopefully, PS5 players can add it to their collection a few months after its release on Xbox and PC.

3 Contraband

Developed by Avalanche Studios and published by Xbox Game Studios, Contraband is a co-op game to enjoy with friends. This game caters to fans of fictional crime, heists, and the 70s. It's been highly anticipated since 2021, but fans have been left hanging since then, with the game seemingly disappearing. Still, fans are holding out hope that it will be released on Xbox and PC soon, with a PS5 release to follow in the future.

Though nothing more has been said about Contraband, it does have a short CGI trailer that initially piqued fans' interest. Hopefully, in the new year, Avalanche Studio will give players more insight into when Contraband will be released and if a PS5 release can be expected.
