Once the season goes live, PS5 players can finally team up with their friends on PC. The only catch is that if you're in a squad with a player on PC, then the entire team will only be able to match against other teams of PC players. While some of those teams might also be a mix of PS5 and PC, they'll more than likely be all PC players, and that could be a problem.
Rainbow Six Siege has a plethora of movement options to help you check your surroundings as efficiently as possible without being caught by a quick headshot. You can peek around corners, sneak and aim your gun while lying on your back, and use gadgets to asses the best route in all directions for every eventuality.
All of these movement options are far easier to pull off quickly on PC using sensitive and responsive keyboard and mouse controls. This gives PC players an advantage that could baffle or infuriate unsuspecting PS5 players who aren't aware of the disadvantages of console controllers.
Thankfully, Ubisoft has put a few more limitations in place to alleviate most of the concerns players might have around Rainbow Six Siege's PS5 and PC crossplay. PC players cannot join PS5 matchmaking pools, and PS5 players will have a separate PC rank they contribute to when playing ranked matches with even one PC player on their squad.
I've been playing Rainbow Six Siege on and off for years, and despite the skill level of console players increasing all the time, I still think there's a huge gap between how a player using a DualSense controller can perform compared to someone using mouse and keyboard.
We believe that Rainbow Six Siege is one of the best FPS games on PS5. I think the game will be much harder to play in a team with PC players because you'll be battling teams of PC users as someone on PS5. Will you be trying out the game's PS5 to PC crossplay or steering well clear of PC players in your matches? Tell us how you feel in the comments.
